SCS Varsity Boys’ Coach Skyler McFall recently announced two new coaches to join him and Coach Jeff Hodge this year. 

Deodrick Jones joins the coaching staff as a Junior Varsity Assistant Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach for Boys Basketball.  Coach Jones is a native of Florence, AL.  He graduated from Florence High School where he went on to play collegiate basketball at Martin Methodist College. 

Coach Jones says he is "excited, honored, and blessed to be able to be a part of Shoals Christian School community."  He goes on to say that he is most looking forward to the upcoming year: "We have a talented and hardworking group of guys, and I'm here to help anyway I can."



Hunter Haynes joins the Boys Basketball coaching staff this year as a Junior High Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach.  A native of Waterloo, AL, Coach Haynes is currently a senior at the University of North Alabama pursuing a degree in Social Science.  Coach Haynes graduated from Waterloo High School where he played football and basketball for six years.  He is currently the full time youth minister at New Hope Church of Christ. 

Coach Haynes is excited to grow and learn with the students who are trying to get better on and off the court every day.  "I look forward to working with this staff and building relationships within the Shoals Christian Community," says Coach Haynes. "I hope to further instill what Coach McFall is doing at the junior high level."

Junior High Head Girls' Coach - Emma Wallen

This is Coach Simmons' third year at SCS. During his tenure here, Coach Simmons has taught PE, was the Junior High Girls Head Basketball Coach, and the Assistant Coach for the Varsity Girls basketball team.  Coach Simmons is also a football assistant coach.

"I am excited, blessed, and appreciative to be named the Head Coach of the Shoals Christian School Varsity Girls Basketball Team!  We have a great group of ladies that work hard, enjoy the game of basketball and love our savior Jesus Christ.  I look forward to coaching the Lady Flame and challenging them to be the best they can be physically, mentally, and spiritually." 



Coach Emma Wallen joins the coaching staff at SCS as the Head Coach for Junior High Girls' Basketball and as the Assistant Coach for Varsity Girls' Basketball. 

A recent graduate of the University of North Alabama, Coach Wallen comes to SCS with an impressive basketball career at the University of North Alabama and Lauderdale County High School. 

She was most recently named to the Times Daily All-Decade Girls Basketball Team and was noted for helping lead the Lauderdale County Girls Basketball team to five consecutive Class 3A state championships. 

Coach Wallen is excited to work with the Lady Flame and is looking forward to a great season.  She said her "passion for the sport" along with teaching the fundamentals of the sport play a big role in her coaching style.  She is looking forward to getting the year started and working with the girls.
